Characteristics of A Successful Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of our great nation. They inspire and innovate, create jobs, build communities and influence markets. An entrepreneur believes anything is possible (within reason of course), and when they get their mind set on something, they won’t take NO for an answer.

Many scholars, business experts and venture capitalists agree that entrepreneurs can emerge at any stage of life and come in all personality types, thus, the never-ending list of ways to define “entrepreneur”.

Regardless of how we define this group, there are without a doubt a collection of common characteristics shared by many successful entrepreneurs.

  • Confident
  • Passionate
  • Highly adaptable
  • Risk takers
  • Networking experts


This group doesn’t wake up each day and do only the bare minimum. They strive to do better, always looking to improve their business and themselves.

Don’t feel you encompass all of these characteristics? No worries. Most can be learned with practice. However, it will take time, so it’s important to set goals and apply yourself through strategic planning. Then, focus towards reaching those goals in incremental and measurable stages.
