Equity Bank 2021 Community Service Highlights

Kids Reading Books in a Line

At Equity Bank, community is more than just a word. The people on our team live and work in the communities we serve, so giving back is second nature. Here are a few highlights of the ways we made a difference in our communities in 2021:

Bank on Reading

Since our community literacy program launched in 2019, Equity Bank has donated over 3,000 books and sponsored 21 classrooms. Beginning in August 2021, we donated $25 to a local school or literacy organization whenever someone opened a new checking account. In six weeks, we raised over $15,000 for the purchase of new books.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Equity Bank employees in Kansas City spent time volunteering at their local Ronald McDonald House, helping to prepare meals for families going through health challenges.

Reality U

We’re proud to partner with Wichita’s Pando Initiative, a great educational charity. Their Reality U program is an engaging personal finance simulation that teaches teens to understand the importance of their financial and educational choices. Equity Bank team members volunteered in Reality U classrooms to share their knowledge and help today’s teens become tomorrow’s financially savvy adults.

The Official Bank of Pets

For every new account opened at Equity Bank, we donated $25 to a local animal shelter in that customer’s community. It’s our way of helping our furry friends find the homes and families they deserve. That’s why we’re proud to call ourselves the Official Bank of Pets!

United Way

Our United Way workplace campaign raised nearly $55,000 from our Wichita office alone. 40 percent of our employees donated to local charities working for health, education, and financial stability in our community.

Serving our community sits at the heart of Equity Bank’s culture. In 2021, we contributed more than $2.3 million in donations and sponsorships to local causes, but we’re just as proud of the hours our team members spent volunteering with these causes. Nothing reflects our values better than how we choose to serve, and so we’re always looking for new ways to improve our neighbors’ lives. We plan to go above and beyond in 2022!
