Market Leaders Added in Western Missouri

 

Cheryl Barnson

Market President, Sedalia, Mo.

Equity Bank added Cheryl Barnson as its Sedalia market president in May, and Barnson will oversee the bank's business development, ag development, and commercial loan efforts in Sedalia and Pettis County. Barnson also will contribute to regional community banking strategy throughout Equity Bank's western and central Missouri locations.

Cheryl has been a commercial lender as well as an area farmer in western Missouri for over 20 years. She previously served as senior vice president and commercial loan officer for UMB in Warrensburg, Mo., and got her start in banking working as a bank manager as well as in staff positions for Freddie Mac in Los Angeles, California. She also has real estate experience and attended Pierce College School of Agriculture in Los Angeles.

Cheryl is a notable member of the community, having served the Missouri Farm Bureau Federation and having participated in SARE (Sustainable Agricultural Research and Education), grant study with the University of Missouri Extension and she is currently a member of the of the steering committee for the annual Women Landowners Agriculture Conference. She also has appeared as a featured speaker in front of various audiences as well as being televised on local KOMU in Columbia, Mo., speaking on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Doug Larkin

Market President, Sweet Springs, Mo.

Doug Larkin joined Equity Bank in April as president of Equity Bank's Sweet Springs market, based at 300 South Miller. Doug will oversee the bank's commercial loan portfolio, as well as branch strategy and consumer banking in Sweet Springs and the surrounding area. Doug previously served as commercial lender for U.S. Bank in its Warrensburg location, joining then-Citizens Bank in 1983 and managing different roles from courier to teller and spending the last 17 years as a commercial loan officer. He is a native of the area, born and raised in Warrensburg, and a University of Central Missouri alumnus. Larkin is heavily involved in the Warrensburg community, including service to numerous organizations, notably Kiwanis and the Warrensburg booster club.

Susan Bisson

Mortgage Loan Officer, Warrensburg, Mo.

Susan Bisson joins Equity Bank as mortgage loan officer, based in its main Warrensburg location at 612 N. Maguire.

Susan previously served as mortgage lender until 2012 for then-First Community Bank in Warrensburg, spending 15 years in the mortgage division, including the last four years as a loan officer. Equity Bank acquired First Community Bank in 2012.

Susan began with Equity Bank in April, and will concentrate on developing and originating mortgage loans in the Warrensburg area, including Knob Noster and Johnson County. Equity Bank has offices at 612 N. Maguire, 1110 South Mitchell, and 200 N. State in Knob Noster.
