Meet the new leaders of Equity Bank in Western Kansas!
Antenen, Gottschalk named President, Senior Lender in Hays and Ellis
Two seasoned community bank leaders have joined Equity Bank's leadership team in the bank's Hays and Ellis, Kansas locations.
Kent Antenen joined Equity Bank on August 2, 2013, and will serve as the Western Kansas market president for Equity Bank. Most recently, Antenen spent eight years as a senior credit administration officer in Salina, Kansas.
Dale Gottschalk also joins Equity Bank after a long tenure with Sunflower Bank, serving as Hays market president for more than 16 years. Gottschalk began on August 7 and will serve as vice president and commercial loan officer for the $1.2-billion bank's Hays market.
"It's not often you're able to bring in two dedicated community bankers and talented leaders at the same time, and we're very excited for what this means for our Ellis County community," said Patrick Harbert, Equity Bank EVP of Sales and Service. "Kent and Dale will serve as tremendous resources for Hays and Ellis customers, colleagues, and the communities."
Antenen and Gottschalk will both be available to meet the public at open houses in Ellis and Hays on September 13; over coffee in Ellis at 7:30 a.m. and lunch in Hays at 11 a.m.
Antenen served as a vice president for Sunflower Bank's credit administration team in Salina, Kansas, analyzing and overseeing loans in excess of $1 million, and also training and developing consumer and commercial lenders throughout the bank's footprint. He previously worked as a Commercial Loan Officer for Central National Bank and began his career as a financial examiner with the Office of the State Bank Commissioner. Antenen will oversee operations, personnel, and deposit and lending activities within Equity Bank's western Kansas market, and will also manage the bank's current portfolio.
Gottschalk previously supervised Sunflower Bank offices in Hays, Russell and Victoria as market president, and prior to that worked for Bank of America in Hays in several capacities. A lifelong banker, Gottschalk will primarily be involved in developing, attracting and cultivating new business relationships for Equity Bank Hays. Gottschalk and Antenen also will serve as instrumental in Equity Bank's western Kansas strategy and business development.
