Ground breaking at our Waterfront location in Wichita, coming this fall!


Equity Bank's Board of Directors and Executive Leadership team helped the $1.2-billion-bank break ground at the site of its newest, full-service Wichita branch location on Wednesday at 13th and Webb in Wichita.

"It's a great day for Equity Bank customers, shareholders, and colleagues," said Brad Elliott, Chairman of Equity Bancshares and CEO of Equity Bank. "Our newest Equity Bank will be an outstanding location for all our customers in Wichita and Central Kansas."

Equity Bank at the Waterfront will be the bank's newest branch facility, including design elements incorporated in the bank's recent branch openings in Lee's Summit, Mo., and Overland Park, Kansas. Equity Bank at the Waterfront is scheduled to open in Fall 2014. At that time, Equity will move its existing branch from Webb and Central up the road to the new location at 1555 N. Webb.

Designed by Shelden Architecture, the construction project is managed and supervised by Simpson Construction Services of Wichita. The 7,200-square foot facility will house Equity Bank retail and commercial space in about 4,000 feet, and a tenant to be determined adjoining the bank branch.

"It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of our customer service team, and our operations, commercial, lending, and administrative staff," said Elliott. "We're fortunate to continue our growth in Wichita, and our new facility highlights our commitment to helping customers with their money, solving financial needs."

Equity Bank's Waterfront branch will house customer service staff, all moving from Webb and Central with additional office space for mortgage lending, consumer lending, personal bankers, commercial loan officers, and additional meeting space for regional bank staff. The bank will include two drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM.

Located at 13th Street and Webb Road, the Waterfront is a unique, 175-acre, mixed-use development that already includes some of Wichita's most recognized businesses. A popular destination for working, shopping and dining, the Waterfront expects additional office space, luxury apartments, and a retail expansion anchored by Whole Foods Market coming in 2014.
